Services Provided By The House Of Mercy

24 hours a day, seven days a week

Food, clothing and shelter. Summer camp for poor children. A special ministry that helps people with serious substance abuse problems. Our annual Christmas drive. Spiritual services. Advocacy assistance to make sure the poor are treated fairly. Drop-in services for emergencies. And more.

We provide these services on a shoestring budget. And we do it with only a handful of dedicated staff members and volunteers. We also operate around the clock - 24 hours a day, seven days a week - because the House of Mercy never closes its doors on people in need.

It's not easy to do all this with such limited resources. But it's very important work. And that's what motivates us every day.

After all, the people in our neighborhood live in the kind of desperate poverty many of us associate with Third World countries. But it's right here in the heart of Rochester, N.Y... right in our own backyard.

What's worse is this: More people are suffering from severe poverty today. In fact, as many as 4,000 people come to us for assistance every month. It's heart-breaking to see them in such desperate straits.

That's why we need your help. If you can sponsor one of our many programs... make a donation... or volunteer, you will help us do even more for the people we serve.

You'll also make sure that the House of Mercy continues to be a beacon of hope for the poorest of the poor.
