Spirituality Services
Bringing Dignity and Joy to the Poorest of the Poor
We don't force religion on the people we serve. But we do believe that spirituality gives all of us inner strength and brings joy into our lives.
That's why spirituality services are an important part of our ministry.
Every week, we invite people to join us for Bible study and liturgies to help people cope with the challenges in their lives. We also hold a Gospel Liturgy every Sunday to pray for all of those in our family, including those we help, those who support us and those who have died.
In addition, we hold services on special occasions to celebrate the lives of people who mean so much to our community, including Martin Luther King, Jr.
We also bring joyful music into our community with the House of Mercy Gospel Choir. Their voices lift the spirits of people in our neighborhood.
Of course, poverty and homelessness take a terrible toll. And we lose more than 100 members of our family every year. So we do our best to honor them with funerals that recognize the importance of every life.
At other times, we welcome new children to the world. Every baptism brings joy and hope to the House.
All of these spirituality services are very important to our people. But we need Bibles... songbooks... robes for our Choir... funds for the funerals that happen so often... and ongoing financial support.
If you can help us serve the spiritual needs of our community, please let us know.
