Jim Vogel Benevolent Fund
Established in 2018, the Jim Vogel Benevolent Fund was created to provide direct but modest financial relief through bill payment.
Jim understood that people on the brink of homelessness are often spared from eviction when they are relieved from a month of rent, a utilities payment, or assistance with a burdensome medical expense. Also, as people transition out of homelessness or suffer from instability, the fund has served as a valuable tool for our social services team to increase independence by providing bus passes and other transportation, training, or assisting with appropriate work attire for a new job.
Jim’s legacy lives on every day in the faces of the people who call House of Mercy home.
Circle of Mercy
House of Mercy’s Monthly Giving Program
Make a difference every month with automatic online contributions. One hundred percent of every dollar goes towards supporting the homeless in Rochester.
Gift of Stock
House of Mercy accepts gifts of stock.
For stock that has appreciated more than a year, a donation of stock will eliminate your capital gains tax – increasing the value of your gift by up to 20 percent more (compared to selling the stock and then making the cash donation).
To arrange for your stock transfer, contact Whitney Snead at whitney@houseofmercyrochester.org.
Planned Giving
Please consider a bequest or planned giving option to help us continue our mission. Whether it’s a direct gift of funds, real estate, securities, life insurance, or anything else, you will make a valuable contribution to thousands of people in our area who struggle to survive every day.
Planned giving can take various forms. Many options are available for you to help the House of Mercy to continue its services in the future. Your gift, transferred at some date in the future, would direct some of your treasures to help provide services and benefits to the poor.
